Tim brought to the College a lifetime’s experience of industry and academia. Until April 2020, Tim was our Head of Student Engagement, a post he filled with enthusiasm, aplomb and most of all a sense of dedication. He was responsible for a very successful series of student engagement activities, including Employers’ Fora, establishing solid contacts with businessmen and the caring society which he considered essential contacts for students planning their futures as well as many popular visits to places of student interest.

It is through his efforts that the College has a blossoming Alumni department supported by a team he has initially trained.

Our Staff have fond memories of this warm caring man, as witnessed in their statements in the College’s Memorial Card. He continually took up causes where he considered inconsistency or arbitrary behaviour was a problem. He loved fighting for the ‘underdog’. He would challenge in his inimitable way, very effusive, always polite.

He was a valued and valuable member of the College’s senior management team, In meetings he tended to say little but what he did say had gravitas. He preferred arguing a position to writing reports; however, his reports were always succinct and focussed.

He is much appreciated and missed as a colleague and friend.
